Convenient, Comfortable, and Affordable!
I created the Lodge in my house in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, to offer travelers the sort of accommodation I would want. I find most hostels to be too noisy and too public, and most hotels to be too expensive and too sterile. Staying at the Greenpoint Lodge is like having your own home in New York. With three full kitchens and comfortably furnished rooms you can relax and feel at home no matter how short or long your stay.
There are lots of places to party right outside the front door, and we know sleep is important when you are traveling, so we ask all guests to observe a calm, peaceful atmosphere while at home. This doesn’t mean you won’t have an opportunity to meet some wonderful new people from all over the world!
We know cost is a big factor, too! New York is one of the most expensive cities in the world, and you need to save your money for all the endless activities that await. We keep costs down by making the Lodge as self-service as possible. There is no front desk at the Lodge – when you make your reservation you are given an entry code for the front door. You must bring this code with you when you arrive. Your room will be unlocked and the keys inside. Payment envelopes will be waiting for you, as well as a full information packet explaining everything you need to know about the Lodge and the neighborhood. The house manager is on site most week days from 12-3, and there is always someone available by phone or email should you need anything, or any emergencies arise. We think the set-up allows for more privacy and a homey environment.
There is also a lovely salon on the ground floor (www.sparrowsalon.com) offering massage and hairstyling, so if you need to relax after a day of sightseeing or get a great New York haircut – just book a session on our website!
We are located at 95 Norman Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11222
